Bloom in Transition

Bloom in Transition

I don’t think a lot of transitional periods are talked about enough. Of course you have your occasional status’s on social media asking, “parents of toddlers, are you all okay?” “Parents of teenagers, are you all okay?” After a few responses, that’s the end. Have we really tapped into the periods of transitioning? Listen, I’ve had to chat with my #mommyfriends about my own personal transitions. Job; going from one kid to two; having a COVID baby versus not; getting older and what all that entails; my body; #parenting; etc. After having great conversations over pizza sometimes really helps to know, YOU’RE NOT ALONE!!

After today, every transition will happen all at once! My baby will be here! Am I excited? Of course! Am I ready? What parent ever is? Am I nervous? Yes!! Do I have a community behind me? YES!! We’re all human, and as mothers, we have such a responsibility to #keepitalltogether but we don’t when we utilize our village during these pivotal transitions.

During this #pregnancy, one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to ask for help. It doesn’t show weakness; it truly showed that I’m strong enough to know when my cup is too full and I need assistance. I’ve had AMAZING support during this #highriskpregnancy and job transition. I never imagined being pregnant with so many #lifechanges. Not to mention my son going to a new “big kid” class (as he likes to call it). From family and friends near and far, random meal and baby item drop offs, check-ins via text or call, mommy dates, gaining new mommy friends, enhancing current friendships, and truly embracing the blessing I have in my husband. God did His thing with him!!

As I prepare myself to become a Mommy of two, and a family party of four, I’m beyond grateful for my support system. I look forward to embracing this new version of myself in #motherhood and just an improved version of Brittany. I like this version of not having to be strong all the time, and leaning on my support!
