Holiday Prep…Mentally

Can you believe the holidays are around the corner?! While everyone is counting down the days for Thanksgiving and Christmas, I want to briefly remind my friends (mama's, aunties, friends, etc.) how to holiday prep. I'm not talking about food, I'm talking mental preparation.
While the holidays can honestly be full of mixed emotions, it's important to prepare for unsolicited advice, comments, shade, and more. There's nothing that will ever fully satisfy others. If you're not dating, they want to know why, if you're not married, they want to know why. If you're married and don't own a home, why. If you're married or not married and over the age of 30 without kids, why. If you're married with kids, but don't own 5 properties, are you setting up your kids for "generational wealth." The list goes on.
I'll be transparent. I'm happily married, with a kid and a half and own a home. However, we don't own properties; we're in a very unique season due to my job situation (testimony coming later), we don't have a name picked out for the baby; her nursery isn't ready; we aren't considering buying a bigger home due to our growing family, and guess what, that is okay!!
Just because you don't have something society feels you need, doesn't make you less of a woman or a mother. Just because you're in a season of discovery, doesn't mean you're in a bad place. If you're single and traveling, tapping into a new career, getting yourself healthy mentally and physically that has required you to separate from others, you are doing an amazing job!!
Marriage and motherhood aren't the only defining factors of womanhood. When asked questions, be confident in your response and stand on it! Protect your peace, and continue to walk in your desired path!
I love you. You are seen. You are loved. Happy prepping!
Sprinkled with Love,
B. Mommy Sprinkles
