You know the saying, "Turn your lemons into lemonade?" Well, let's just say, I'm still attempting to make life a little sweet. Contrary to popular belief, no one is perfect! Sometimes, social media can truly make an impact on how we view ourselves and our lives. When it seems lemons are constantly being thrown your way, it's hard to stay positive. To be honest, I have been in the toughest season of my life. While life as been life-ing, I'm still a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend, etc. Although I have many hats, those around me have taken those hats and have allowed me to feel as human as possible. Find people who give you the space to feel human.
If you are like me, and feel like each day is trial and error, I have found that surrounding myself with my core, and doing things that put a spark of joy in my day, I do that. While I'm still stirring my spoon to make my lemonade a little sweeter, here are some things I have done, even when I did not feel up to it.
Express your real feelings when you pray. Trust me, God knows the human side of all of us.
Watch the Golden Girls.
Go to Target...even if you buy yourself a bouquet of flowers. There's just something about the atmosphere of Target that makes life better!
Let go of pride. Listen, at one point in my life, I was "Perfect Prideful Patty." I wanted everyone to know that I was okay. I wanted everyone to know that I have everything under control. Guess what, I'm human; and so are you! When your circle asks how you're doing, be honest. You never know what they are able to do for you. Mentally, financially, emotionally, and spiritually. Be honest with yourself, and your circle
Feel your feelings. I'm not one to say, "don't cry," or "suck it up." Life is hard, and we all need a good cry. LET IT OUT!!! After you let it, have a good prayer, pep talk, and keep going.
Every morning will look different. Your 100% will look different from Monday to Tuesday, and from Tuesday to Wednesday. Just don't give up, and give it all you've got.
All in all, we're all in a different season of our lives. However, my mother and one of my besties says, "seasons change!"
My goal is to be a mommy-friend, inspirational, and provide a little sprinkle of joy or laughter in your day! Thank you for allowing me to take a little sabbatical. I'll keep mixing this lemonade while sprinkling a little joy your way!
With Sprinkles of Love and Hugs,
B. Mommy Sprinkles
